The design behind double D-ring webbing belts is so simple, it could be considered genius. Here at Strapworks, we make our double D-ring belts by sewing 2 D-rings on the end of a length of webbing, quickly creating a belt that can be used for a diverse range of jobs depending on the D-ring and webbing used. . Your D-ring options include: metal heavy wire, light wire, plastic (black or white), stainless steel (heavy wire or light wire) and solid brass (heavy wire or light wire). (NOTE: For best grip, choose Strapworks lightwire or plastic D-rings.) If you are using the double D-ring web belt for something other than a belt, keep in mind the characteristics of the different types of webbing. Double D-ring belts made with flat nylon webbing are a good choice for high abrasion applications. Nylon webbing is not recommended for continuous use in or around water because it is less water resistant, making it susceptible to mildew and rot. Double D-Ring Belts made with patterned polyester webbing are perfect for heavy loads with high abrasion. Polyester has all of the best attributes of flat nylon (abrasion resistance) and heavyweight polypropylene (UV protection, water resistance). Strapworks’ “Patterned Polyester” is polyester that has been sublimated. Sublimation is a process that virtually tattoos the ink into the webbing by turning a solid ink into a permeating gas. This process is done right our manufacturing facility and allows for great detail and vivid custom colorfast colors. Polyester is the only material we carry that is consistent in its ability to be sublimated. Double D-ring belts made with polyester webbing have the same attributes and characteristics as patterned polyester. Like our Patterned Polyester, our polyester webbing is also sublimated, but is sublimated in solid colors. Polyester has all of the benefits of flat nylon, including high breaking strength, high abrasion resistance and a soft, smooth and shiny texture. It also has the benefits of polypropylene, including low water absorption, high UV protection and mildew and rot resistance. Double D-ring belts made with heavyweight polypropylene webbing are suitable for medium duty applications. However, polypropylene does not have good abrasion resistance, so it is not recommended for use against rough edges. Double D-ring belts made with lightweight polypropylene webbing are ideally suited for outdoor light-duty use. Other than breaking strength and webbing thickness, they have the same attributes as heavyweight polypropylene webbing. Belt sizes are as follows: Regular:…..up to 38-inch waist (48 inches in length) Large:……..up to 48-inch waist (60 inches in length) X-Large:…..up to 60-inch waist (72 inches in length) Shortening the length of your double D-ring canvas belt is an easy task and can be performed at home. Simply cut the end of the double D-ring belt with scissors and melt the end with a lighter and you are good to go. Please remember that if you choose the sublimation process, it may take an extra 2-3 days to fulfill your order.
